If you enjoy being outdoors and you have the opportunity to hike from Imerovigli to Oia on Santorini, I hightly suggest it. The walk provides endless gorgeous views of the island along a meandering path of endless photo opportunities. When we arrived in Oia I found that most people there were dressed and ready for photo shoots with heels, hair done and stylized clothes to match the landscape. I was a little sweaty and undone from the walk but I wouldn’t want to have it any other way. It gave us time to take in, pause and really enjoy the spectacular views on Santorini, at times with no one else around.
We hiked in mid October and the weather was perfect in the morning but hot midday. I recommend heading out early in the morning, wearing a hat and/or sun protection, good walking shoes and bringing plenty of water. The walk is about 5.4 miles with a 600 ft. elevation gain.
